We are seeking an Assistant/Policy Analyst for a business development and government affairs firm in Ridgeland, MS. The ideal candidate is highly organized and thrives in a fast-paced environment with an interest in government, business development, or lobbying.

The multi-dimensional nature of this role includes administrative/clerical tasks and requires a strategic mindset. This is an excellent opportunity to establish working relationships in economic development and political fields in the state and nationwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, phone calls, and travel arrangements
  • Manage multiple calendars and send agenda reports
  • Assist with time-sensitive, confidential research projects as needed
  • Provide personalized and timely support to partners
  • Manage multiple email accounts in a timely and accurate manner
  • Act as the point of contact among executives and clients, their employees, and other external partners
  • Format documents for internal and external communication – memos, emails, presentations, contracts, etc.
  • Take notes during internal and external meetings as requested
  • Screen and direct phone calls and distribute correspondence daily
  • Manage multiple social media channels
  • Assist with organizing financial records and paying invoices
  • Secure, track, and report CLE hours for 2 partners
  • Maintain office supply and kitchen supply inventories
  • Organize and maintain the office filing systems, both physical and electronic, and the office storage unit
  • Run errands and pick up lunches as needed

Requirements:

  • Associates degree, 4-year degree preferred
  • 2 plus years of work experience in a similar role
  • Outstanding time management and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Networking and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • Strategically manage competing priorities
  • Proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft Office

Compensation:

  • $40-45K
  • Health, Vision, Dental Insurance

Work Hours:

  • 9am – 5pm
  • After-hours as needed
